The Provincial Summer Institute 2010: Counselling Skills for Concurrent Disorders
August 17–19, 2010 in Toronto
The Provincial Summer Institute is a collaboration between CAMH and the Concurrent Disorders Ontario Network (CDON) to provide learning opportunities for health care professionals who are seeking advanced-level training in concurrent disorders. There are some courses offered in French, for example, Introduction à la thérapie cognitivo-comportementale.
The Training Enhancement in Applied Cessation Counselling and Health (TEACH) Project is designed to ensure that individuals in the public, private and non-profit sectors who provide counselling services to francophone tobacco users obtain knowledge and skill in the delivery of intensive cessation interventions. Since Francophones experience higher smoking rates than the general population they require a targeted approach.
The project aims to reduce the incidence of tobacco use among Francophones by improving screening and treatment options. The TEACH project offers an accessible and relevant training program to a wide range of health care professionals.
This general interest brochure (PDF) provides an overview of the program.
TEACH courses run each fall.
